It’s my second time here and I thought I should share with everyone how to travel to this (literally) cool place. This time, I went with my friends for a camping trip, I took many photos of the place, also wrote down some very useful information.
Only ₱484/pax if based on Day Trip Itinerary (Round-trip to and fro Buendia Terminal), cheapest commute available, excluding meals, also given that you have your own tent (should you need one). If you’ll be renting a tent (good for 4pax/24hours), your total round-trip expense would be around ₱547/pax, excluding meals, and given there’s 4 of you in the group. If there’s only 2 of you, then its ₱609/pax.
Going here is easy. Either commuting or using your own vehicle, it would take 3-4 hours depending on vehicular traffic. The map below shows you the route when commuting.
- Ride either JAC Liner or DLTB from Buendia Bus Station bound for Sta. Cruz, Laguna
- Fare: ₱148.00/pax ($3.185)
- Ride either a Jeep or Tricycle bound for Sta. Cruz Market
- Fare: Jeep- ₱10.00/pax ($0.22) / Tricycle- ₱20.00/pax ($0.43)
- Ride a Jeep bound for Majayjay, Laguna
- Fare: ₱34.00/pax ($0.73)
- Ride either a Jeep or rent a Tricycle bound for Taytay Falls
- Fare: Jeep- ₱20.00/pax ($0.43) / Tricycle- ₱200.00/special ride ($4.30)
Pretty much the same route if you use you own vehicle. Or you could utilize the other available ones should the original road become inaccessible.
- Magallanes Toll Gate to Calamba Toll Gate
- Fare: ₱214.00 ($4.61) for Class 1 type vehicles (Sedans)
- Just use your Google Maps or Waze and key in Taytay Falls. The route they will show you is accurate- what we used going here.
Upon reaching the jump off point, you will need to register your names individually and pay ₱30.00 ($0.65) for the registration fee. If you brought your own vehicle, there is a parking rate of ₱100.00 ($2.15). If you brought your tents, you don’t need to pay anything for pitching, just the registration fee. But if you will rent a tent for overnight camping, you need to shell out ₱250.00 ($5.38) This tent rate is already good for 4 people, and is valid for 24 hours. You can extend your rent for another 24 hours, should you choose to enjoy a bit more, just pay another ₱250.00 at the registration site.
There are a lot of food stalls at the area where you can get breakfast, lunch or dinner. Prices are a bit higher than normal market rates so better bring/prepare your food beforehand. There are also rooms available for rent if you don’t like camping in the woods, just be reminded that they may cost a bit high and is located at the jump off point (far from the camping site/falls)
Once you’ve prepared everything, you need to hike for around 15-20 minutes to reach the campsite. There are no guides and the path is cemented.
Do take note that this cemented path doesn’t have night lights, so better get everything fixed before night time to avoid going back to the jump off site.
A little after 15 minutes of walking through the greenery, you will already hear the water flowing through the rocks below and on the walkway.
There are a lot of areas you can pitch your tent at, but the time we went there, the place was already crowded (lenten season) and we had to cross this stream of COLD water to find an area on the other side. A thick rope is provided for balance, the rocks are not stable and you may fall and get wet before setting camp, so be careful.
You will see rocks everywhere so you need to be careful when crossing, or even just going around. Some rockof them are very slippery.
Whenever the falls shoots more water, the more pressure/current you have to brave. So it’s wise to pack light, or have your friend meet you halfway the stream to assist you with your things.
And the main attraction:
There is a wooden bridge that connects one part of the camping site to another camping site.
After going for a swim, I took the remaining hours of the day taking random photos. Check them out:
If you want adventure, camping, or just a chill kind of night, this place is perfect. Just be sure to bring your sun block, insect repellant and board games cause insects will be 101% present and of course you need to have fun without getting sun burns! Bring out those PJs!
